Tobago
is surrounded by the
Caribbean sea on one side
and the Atlantic on the
other, it offers
spectacular drift diving.•
Not
all of Tobago's diving is
on coral reefs. Some of
the best dives, are
around rocks that have
encrusted with sponge and
coral. Huge barrel, vase
sponges and boring
sponges, long trailing
pore rope sponges along
with many brightly
colored coral species add
colour and textural
variety.
•
Unlike
any where else in the
Caribbean, large schools
of gentle, giant, manta
rays (manta birostris)
are quite common,
primarily because of the
water's richness in the
plankton of Orinoco River
origin that they feed on.
