Islam celebrates two great annuall festivals:
The festival of Eid Ul Fitr, or Day of  Recurring Joy, falls in the first day of Shawwaal, at the end of the month-long fast of Ramadan,.
The festival of Eid Ul Adha is celebrated at the end of the Hajj (annual pilgrimage to Mecca) during the twelfth Islamic month of Zjul Hijjah

Hosay is a Shiite Muslim procession commemorating the martyr of two Moslem Princes, thus originally a mourning festival. It starts 10 days after the first appearance of the new moon in the Moharram month of the Moslem calendar.
There is a colourful processions with flags and spinning moons and 10-30 feet tall elaborate replicas of temples called tadjahs made of wood and papiermache are paraded on floats.

Dancers carrying and spinning the huge moons are accompanied by tassa drumming and chanting. The parade ends at the water’s edge and the tadjahs and the moons are thrown into the water as offerings. After which, there are prayers of mourning.
The main celebrations are in St James, West of Port of Spain and Cedros in South Trinidad.
